Growing up three blocks north of 8 Mile, the Detroit city limit, Melody Herr spent years traveling and living around the world after college. Eventually she made her way to LA, the catalyst for her transition into writing and filmmaking.
In 2015, Melody moved to Milwaukee where she is a founding member of the Milwaukee Filmmaker Alliance and spearheads several screenwriting initiatives. Recently, Herr was a finalist in the Marquette University Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship, has written two Wisconsin based feature films, several shorts, and was a semi-finalist in the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay competition and the ScreenCraft Film Fund
